Facebook is beginning to force its users into downloading and using its own ‘Messenger’ app if they want to continue messaging(sms) and real-time chatting with their friends on the Local network.
Currently, the messages acts as a sort of soft warning (you can just click to close), stating that: “Your conversations are moving to Messenger,” but it’s clear that the future of the in-app messaging on Facebook is pretty bleak for users that are refuse to make the switch.
This summer, however, that will all changes as the message forces users to make the switch, or give up the Local messaging functionality they’re accustomed to.
Personally, I enjoy the Messenger app, but I could see that why some would prefer not to have a second application to do everything for the first one already provided. Of course, Facebook would have correctly argue that the additional app provides a better user experience and is worth the more download’s.
Oh, and stickers, video, chatbots … Messenger only do All.
